Mrs. Corine Abrams passed away at 92 years of age on May 12, 2025. Mrs. Corine Abrams was born to Robert McGee Hopkins and Plummer Hicks Hopkins in Lapine, Alabama. Her mother died at a young age and Mrs. Abrams went to live with her Aunt & Uncle, Nehemiah & Jeff Harriel, where she went to school and graduated Valedictorian of her class.

After high school, she moved to Youngstown, Ohio to live with her sister, Lillie and to get a job. She was a member of the Triedstone Baptist Church. She worked for Youngstown Sheet & Tube for 20 years before moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she worked for Eye & Ear Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of White Lily Baptist Church until she became too ill to attend.

While in Youngstown, she met and married Horace Abrams, deceased, whom she was married to for over 40 years. Of this union, she had 3 children: Brenda Burney of Citrus Springs, Florida, Linda Abrams-Poindexter (Eddie) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Gloria Cross (Cornelius) of Mansfield, Ohio. She had 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Mrs. Abrams is preceded in death by her sisters: Martiel, Docia Lee, Minnie Pearl, Edwina, and Lillie; and her brother: Robert Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at West Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing: 11am to 12pm; Service begins at 12pm; Interment follows at Highwood Cemetery.
