Herbert Lee Palmer Jr. was born to Herbert Lee Palmer Sr. and Constance Foster Palmer on March 3, 1963, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  His education was a blend of Pittsburgh public schools and those in Clarksville, Tennessee before he finished in the Pittsburgh Public School system, where he met the love of his life Tina Machea, his future wife.  Herbert attended Connelly Trade School to learn plumbing, becoming an apprentice and later a Journeyman with significant work experience.  As a versatile and skilled individual, Herbert managed building maintenance for notable companies like E.V. Bischoff, Multi-Family LLC, and Village Green Properties.

On Saturday May 16, 2026 Herbert Palmer Jr. peacefully answered the Lord's call to come home.  Preceding him in death were his parents Herbert Palmer Sr, Constance Foster Palmer, his son Jawan Palmer, and brother Vincent Merriweather.  Those closest to him include his wife Tina; his children Jamar (Jala) Palmer, Brittany Palmer, Jazmynn, Maurice Palmer; and his goddaughter Angel Gilmore.  Herbert's legacy extends to his grandchildren Adai Marie, Kareem, Yamuna, Teniyah, Marjae, Ja'Zae, Jamar Jr., Syd, Aujae,Sha'kur, Tamya and his five great-grandchildren.  Surviving family members include his stepmother Mary Palmer, sister Shameka Winters and Debra Palmer, brothers Jerial (Lois) Palmer, and Michael Merriweather, 2 sister in laws Kathy (James) Boyd Donna Franklin and Brother in law Michael Young along with many relatives and friends. 

Herbert Lee Palmer Jr.  viewing will be held Friday May 29,2026  4-8pm at West Funeral Home. His Service is scheduled for Saturday May 30, 2026 at 11:00 am. Interment Greenwood Cemetery
