Joyce Ann Banks affectionately referred to as “Mama”, was called home on the morning of July 10, 2026 at the age of 82.

Joyce was born on March 16, 1944, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to the late Walter and Mary Banks (nee Holmes). A graduate of Fifth Avenue Highschool, Joyce went on to work for UPMC dietary department where she retired.

Growing up, Joyce was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and throughout her life continued to always read the Bible. Along with reading the Bible, she also loved to watch the Game Show Network on TV, and attended bingo every Wednesday afternoon. Joyce was known for her loving heart, effervescent personality, and selfless service to her family and friends.

Ms. Banks was proceeded in rest by her sister Virginia Kemp, brother Richard Banks, and parents Walter and Mary Banks.

Joyce is survived by her two children, Terri Banks and Bruce Banks both of Pittsburgh: Sisters, Marian Goodnight and Juanita Gardner; Grandchildren, Tasia Barnett (Yaroslav Abbasov), Kiyona Banks and Jaylin Banks - all of Pittsburgh; One great-grandchild; and a community of cherished family and friends.
