Mikita Johnson better known as Kita, was born on September 12th, 1986. She was born to proud parents Shirlene Johnson and Thomas Lane. She and her sister Chinna Johnson, both lived with and were raised by her mother and father. She spent her childhood growing up in the hill district and attended Pittsburgh Public school. Mikita was a people person and like to help others. She had dreams of being in the nursing field and even attended Miami Jacob Career College in Cleveland, Ohio to pursue it. Her hospitable nature, thoughtfulness and hard work made her perfect for this. She  eventually wanted to come home and moved back to Pittsburgh. Mikita loved fashion and shopping. Her favorite things were shoes, clothes and purses. She loved to dance and go out. She was a social butterfly, (with a great sense of humor) so no matter where she went she left her mark.

On April 4th, 2022 Mikita was called home. Mikita is proceeded in death by her father, Thomas Lane. Her grandmother, Dorthy Johnson. Her aunts Queenetta Johnson, Priscilla Stanton and Shirley Johnson. Her uncles Carl Johnson, Henry Johnson and James Johnson.

Mikita leaves behind her mother Shirlene. Her sister and only sibling Chinna. Her son and only child Ceonte. Her nephews Marquan, Marshawn and MarKe, and her long time friend LeJuan Brown. Mikita had a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other famliy and friends who knew and loved her.

Mikita gave her life to Jesus and is now at peace.

Mikita will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the West Funeral Chapel. Viewing begins at 11am and services follows directly at 12pm. Interment follows at Greenwood Cemetery.
