Orlando Eldred Robinson was born on March 19 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Leamon and Marian Robinson. Orlando grew up in the Hill district where he attended Herron Hill Elementary and Schenley High School. After attending Schenley High School in 1950 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged in 1952 then  Orlando worked for several different jobs. One to note was the Macintosh Hempfield Steel Company located in the southside of Pittsburgh, PA for nearly ten years.  After that he attended Community college of Allegheny County where he received an Associate's degree in Electronics in 1981. Orlando later obtained a certificate in cooking from Community College of Allegheny County in 1987. Orlando later worked as a cook at the Children's Institute located in Squirrel Hill until he retired around 1998.

Orlando enjoyed listening to jazz music, tinkering with electronics, cars, cooking and watching sports with his friends. Those sports included baseball, football, hockey and his favorite sport boxing. Orlando competed in boxing while serving overseas during his enlistment in the Army. Orlando also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and made sure to treat them on birthdays and during the Christmas holiday even when he could not be with them. He loved his grandchildren and they loved him also.

Orlando Eldred Robinson is survived by his sons, Orlando M. Robinson and Curtis Robinson, Sister Doris Jamison, five grandchildren Orlando Q. Robinson, Jordan Robinson, Brandon Galloway, Bria Galloway, and Tajai Hanner. He is also survived by a host of cousins, family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:20AM at the West Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
