Reneé Naikiea Rhodes was born on September 23, 1956, the daughter of Orchis Crawford and Alphonso Johnson. Nay as she was affectionately called by loved ones, transitioned from the earth on February 21, 2022, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Reneé attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and later Median School for Medical Assisting. She was a community supporter and assisted with local remodeling projects after receiving training at Connelly Technical Institute. Reneé was also employed within the hospitality industry and lastly with Aramark at Heinz Field.

Reneé loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was a fierce protector of them. She also loved listening to music and dancing. Nay was an oldie but goodie kind of lady. Although, most recently she loved listening to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". Those who know her best, will testify to her obsession with playing bingo. She enjoyed going to nickel bingo downtown before becoming a regular at Bishop Canevin's bingo nights. Reneé was sweet, an enthusiastic chatterbox with friends but also tough as nails. She always stood her ground.

Reneé was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Norman Rhodes.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Theron Johnson (Lisa), three daughters: Melanie Johnson, Sharese Moye (Eric), and Kaoni Mazoch. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, her brother Derek Johnson and sister DenineHornezes.

A special thanks to her wonderful caregivers who cared for her with love.

Renee loved her family, good music, and good food. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March, 2, 2022 at West Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation begins at 10am and services follows at 12pm. Interment will be private.
