Obituary

On May 16th, 1967, God blessed Annie Clyde Rhodes and Charles "Charlie" Scott with a beloved son named Scott Craig Rhodes, (Scotty).  He was given his wings on February 16th, 2024, after battling stage 4 cancer.  Scott was respectfully known as Scotty, grandad, and the "innocent one".

Scott lived on the Hill, Pittsburgh for 53 years before moving to Penn Hills.  He graduated from Schenley High in 1986.  He had a spiritual relationship with his Lord, and accepted Him as his personal Savior early in his life while attending Victory Baptist Church, Northside.  Scott had a love for working, Polo, and Cadillac's.

Scott was funny and laughed all the time which brought joy to the lives of many.  He always gave of himself to anyone he could with his self-less service filled with compassion, kindness and genuine love.  Scott was employed with Local Union 1058 for many years.  He changed careers in 2018 and was employed at Mercy Behavior for 2 ½ years, then leaving to work two jobs to include Light of Life Rescue Mission (full time) as a Care Support Specialist and Resources for Human Development (part-time) as a Peer Support Specialist giving hope to those with mental illness and substance use disorders.

Scott leaves his cherished memories with his wife Cynthia Rhodes, brother Eric Rhodes, son , Scott Lamont Rhodes (Marhia) Rhodes, Alannah (Thomas) Anderson, Alesia Robinson, Alan Potter Jr., and Amari Walker.  Scott found the greatest joy with his grandchildren Bradyn Coleman Rhodes, Scott Rhodes II, Seth Rhodes, Scot'lyn Rhodes, Mi'Leyahnna Johnson, Kayden Goode, and Armani Robinson.  Best friend Rashie Barnett.

Among those mourning his loss is cousin, Susan Taylor and niece Jayme (Travis) Johnson, whom Scott loved and adored along with a host of cousins, family and friends.

Scott was greeted in heavens gate by his Father Charles "Charlie" Scott,  Mother, Annie Clyde Rhodes, Aunt Christine Culbreath, and Son Craig Bradshaw Mitchell Rhodes. Grandparents Eddie Mae Sumpter, John Wesley Queen, and James William (Artie Melissa) Scott.

Scott will be remembered for his generosity, his laughter, and the love he shared with all those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched.

May Scott Rhodes rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who hold him dear in their hearts.
