Threatha Huff, beloved wife, mother, sister, and was born on March 13th, 1933 to James and Mattie Huff. Threatha was the loving wife of Burdett Morgan (deceased) and the devoted mother of Marvin Carter (deceased).
Threatha, born in the Hill District of Pittsburgh graduated from Fifth Avenue Highschool, where she created many lifelong friends. However, Threatha had her sights on the "Windy City" Chicago, where she created a life and career with her loving husband Burdett Morgan. Rita, as she was affectionately known by family and close friends, was caring and generous, but in Huff fashion, could be no nonsense, and direct in an instant. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and loved R&B music. Rita was a huge fan of the late Michael Jackson and kept an oil painting of his likeness hung on her bedroom wall. She was a also plant person, with numerous plants in her home.
Later in life, Rita, dealing with some medical issues, decided to return to her hometown of Pittsburgh, and to the neighborhood she grew up in, the Hill District.
There she reconnected with lifelong friends. Well into her eighty's, It was not unusual to see her boarding a Port Authority bus, downtown shopping, or run into her while she grabbing a bite to eat at many downtown restaurants.
Rita was a lifelong Baptist, and professed her love for Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mattie Huff, her son Marvin Carter, her husband Burdett Morgan, her six brothers, Loron, Leroy, Harry, Sidney, Clearance, and Cephus.
Rita leaves behind to cherish her memory, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and friends.
Rita Huff was blessed to have a life well lived.
