William Henry Bailey, Jr., known to his loved ones as Billy, passed away on December 27, 2023, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the age of 73. Billy was born on August 9, 1950, in Pittsburgh. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and sibling.

Billy had a vibrant personality and was known for his love of spending time with his family. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching the Steelers and his favorite shows, working his part-time job, and cooking delicious food. He especially loved baking pies and perfecting his recipes. Billy is survived by his children, William Henry Bailey III and Deborah Bailey; his grandchildren, William D. Bailey and Aliyah N. Kennedy; and his great-grandchildren, Audebayo H. Adeola, Auriella F. Adeloa, Avonna Bailey, and Aubrey J. Vaughn. He is also survived by his siblings, Angenette Bailey, Daryl Bailey, James Bailey, Lesile Bailey, and Joan Bailey. Billy was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Bailey, his mother, Beatrice King Bailey, and his brother, Jerome Bailey. In his educational journey, Billy attended Herron Hill School for primary education and Schenley High School for his high school education. He also obtained welding and boiler room certifications. Throughout his career, Billy had various roles. He started his journey with the P&LE Railroad as an operator and later became the owner of a welding shop. He worked as a boiler room operator in the Pittsburgh Public Schools and held management positions in housekeeping at the Hilton Hotel and St. Joseph Hospital. Billy retired from the City of Pittsburgh Water & Sewer in 2018 and continued working part-time at Quality Cleaning Services until November 2023. In his free time, Billy enjoyed going fishing and playing chess and card games online. He had a passion for trying new recipes and perfecting his baked pies.
